Johnny M. Sanders

Johnny Marion Sanders, 79, husband of Betty Craig Sanders, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House of Anderson. A native of Central he was the son of the late Glenn Golden and Lena Stewart Sanders. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US. Air Force and was a member of the Cannon Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher for 37 years and was also a former Deacon. He retired from the U.S.D.A. Research Center at Clemson.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Vicki Wilbanks of Central; grandchildren Sherri Rowland of Liberty and Kevin Patterson of Seneca and great-grandchildren: Anna and Caleb Rowland and Nicole and Leigh Patterson and sister, Tracy Sanders of Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Thursday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
