Roy Lee "Johnny" Vaughan, 71, of 11 Oak Hill Drive, passed away Wednesday September 14, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Vaughan was born in Dacusville, SC and resided the rest of his life in Greenville. He was a son of the late Clifford and Josie Julian Vaughan. He retired as President of Greenville Industrial Insulation Company, Inc. and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church, the Monoghan Masonic Lodge #251 and the American Legion. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. Johnny loved his wife, Shirley, and spent a loving 50 years together and they had a wonderful life together with his family and friends. Anyone who knew Johnny loved him and it didn�??t take long to make a friend. Johnny was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed his lake house at Lake Russell in Lowndesville where he made lots of friends along the way.

Surviving are two sons, Barry L. Vaughan and his wife, Denise, of Travelers Rest and Chris L. Vaughan and his wife, Tonya, of Greenville; two brothers, Bill Vaughan, of Powdersville and Paul Vaughan, of Greenville; two sisters, Susie Wyatt, of Dacusville and Joan Vaughan, of Greenville; two wonderful granddaughters, Casey Marie Vaughan, of Pickens and Kelly Ann Vaughan, of Greenville and his loving companion maltese, "Maggie".

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lloyd Vaughan, Carl Vaughan and Gene Vaughan.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home �?" Powdersville Road, with Mr. Ronnie Wallace and the Reverend Barry Dilworth officiating. Entombment will follow in the Robinson Memorial Garden �?" Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

The family is at the residence.
