Joseph Charles Barger Jr, 79, of Pickens, SC the son of Joseph and Bessie Barger, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
He was born January 8, 1938, in Houtzdale, PA and is predeceased by his father, mother, nine brothers & sisters and sons Joseph Charles Barger III and Michael William Barger.
He served in the Marine Corps Reserve and was a long time employee and retiree of Fort Hill Natural Gas in Easley, SC. Joe was a devoted and loyal family man who was loved by all who knew him. He was a member of the Freemasons and Mountain View Baptist Church in Six Mile, SC.
He is survived by his wife, Georgine; three sons, Brian (Patti), Jeff (Isabel) and Jason (Libby); eleven grandchildren, Brittany, Brooke (Chaz), Anthony, Preston, Brian David, Isaac, Jacob, Jessica, Anthoni, Reagan and Madison; three great grandchildren, Hailey, Maisie and Ryland; and his beloved dog, Mini.
Visitation will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday July 6th at Robinson Funeral Home (1425 Powdersville Rd) in Easley and a funeral service will follow visitation at 1PM. A graveside service will be held immediately afterwards at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Mountain View Baptist Church building fund.
