Joseph D. "Joe" Freeman, Sr., 63, of 611 A Belmina Street, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the MUSC Health in Charleston, SC.
Born in Anderson County, Joe was a son of the late Frank L. and Ethel Porter Freeman. He was a graduate of Riverside High School and former employee of C & D Appliances of Pendleton and retired from Clemson University. Joe was a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church of Pendleton.
Surviving are two sons, Roy Scott and wife, Chenice of Anderson and Joe Freeman, Jr. of Pendleton; a daughter, Danita Worden and husband, Victor of Pendleton; two brothers, Charles Freeman of Atlanta, GA and John Freeman of Pendleton; three sisters, Katheryn Richardson of Anderson, Frances Simpson of Pendleton and Gussie Pinson of Central; grandchildren, Keona and Courtney Freeman, Jayda and Jordan Worden, Lamar and Tristan Scott, Chantal Scott and Deniesha Williams.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Lula Mary Reid Freeman; a son, Jason Freeman; brothers, Nathaniel Freeman, Willie Freeman, R.B. Freeman and Lewis Freeman, Sr.; sisters, Eva Mae Walker and Henrietta Reese.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Tuesday, Feb. 1st at New Holly Light Missionary Baptist Church in Pendleton with burial in Memory Gardens in Clemson.
The body will be placed in the church at 1 PM, Tuesday prior to the service.
