Joseph "Jay" McCall, a beloved member of the Easley community and the proud owner of McCalls Used Cars, passed away on December 20, 2023, at the Baptist Easley Hospital. Born on August 24, 1936, in Cashiers, North Carolina, Jay led a remarkable life filled with achievements, love, and devotion.

Jay was a Godly man who found solace and purpose in spreading the word of God whenever he had the opportunity to witness to someone. His dedication to his faith was admired by many, and he will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to sharing his beliefs.

Jay was very athletic. He lettered in basketball and baseball at Glenville High School. After he graduated, he went on to serve in the United States Army as an Armor Crewman. His military service instilled in him a sense of discipline and duty that would shape his character throughout his life.

Outside of his career and military service, Jay had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He was an avid golfer and won multiple golf championships. He took great pride in winning both the Golf Club Championship and the Senior Club Championship. Additionally, he enjoyed coon and deer hunting and trout fishing in the mountains of North Carolina, where he found comfort in nature. Jay's love for his many coon dogs is unwavering and unspeakable. Jay's passion for music led him to become a talented guitar musician which led him to be the founder of the St. John's Quartet, showcasing his artistic abilities.

Known for his punctuality and always being busy, Jay was a man who valued efficiency and productivity. Yet amidst his busy schedule, he always made time for his family. Jay cherished moments spent with his children John W. McCall (Karen), Rodney McCall (Heidi), David Galloway, Tina Morris, Vetta Lesley (Steve), Patsy Chandler (Johnny); seventeen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Jay will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his talent on the golf course and hunting grounds, his devotion to his faith, and his loving and caring nature. His memory will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
