Joseph "Joe" Mason Burdine, 80, husband of Gertrude McCombs Burdine, of Easley, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022.
Born in Easley, he was the son of the late Mason "Jack" and Myrtle Lee Sparks Burdine.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman and loved to deer hunt. He was a devoted member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church for over 55 years, where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Training Union Director. He also proudly served with the U.S. Army.
In addition to his loving wife of 55 years, Joe is survived by a son Joseph "Joey" Burdine (Michelle) of Easley; a daughter, Tina Burdine Stewart of Easley; a brother, Tommy Burdine (Teresa) of Easley; a sister, Margaret Richardson of Easley; grandchildren, Mason and Jesse Burdine, Hunter Stewart, and Abbie Allison; and two great-grandchildren, Brent and Brady Burdine.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James "J.B." Burdine; sisters, Patricia Burdine, Rose Nabors, and Wilma Burdine; and son-in-law, Jeff Stewart.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2022 at Cedar Rock Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
