Joseph “Joe” Robert Poor, 78, of Easley, SC, passed away on September 8, 2026. He was the child of the late Joseph Anthony and Mary Catherine Poor and the husband of Millie Poor.

Joe was a quiet man with a gentle presence later in life where he rarely spoke without first giving his words careful consideration. From a young age, Joe was able to maintain friendships throughout his life with many lasting decades.

Professionally, Joe worked to manage, engineer and design fire hoses throughout the country. His work took him to many places which in turn allowed him to build a career using both his technical ability and his steady, practical nature.

Joe became a devoted husband and father. He was able to fill a place in Lynnette and Jason's lives that they will carry with them always. He taught them not only through his words, but through the way he lived: to be capable, curious, hardworking, and self-sufficient.

Most of Joe's happiest memories were made with his family and friends. When it was time for Lynnette and Jason to learn to drive, Joe had a particular lesson in mind. He insisted they learn not only how to drive but how to maintain a vehicle, in turn teaching them how to take care of themselves, solve problems, and never be afraid to get their hands dirty.

Joe's life was not defined by grand gestures or loud declarations. He built friendships that lasted a lifetime, a marriage rooted in devotion, and a family that became the center of his world.

For Lynnette and Jason, he was the father who chose them and loved them as his own. For Millie, he was the bachelor who discovered that the life he thought he wanted was nothing compared to the life he found with her. Joe’s memory will live on in the people, lessons, adventures, and love he left behind.

Joe leaves behind his wife, Millie Poor; his children, Lynnette Stein (James) and Jason Hippert (Leah); and his grandchildren, Natalie Hippert, Ashley Stein, Trevor Hippert, and Emma Stein.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Poor.

His family and friends will carry his memory, grateful for the years they were given, the lessons he taught, and the quiet but lasting mark he left on their lives.

Graveside services will be held at 11:15 AM on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, prior to the service.
