Mr. Joseph Furman "Joe" Vaughn, Jr., 69, husband of Phyllis Kay Vaughn, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Born in Miami, FL, the son of Elizabeth Ann Nations Vaughn of Easley, and the Late Joseph Furman Vaughn, Sr., Mr. Vaughn was a 1969 graduate of Easley High School, attended Clemson University, and received his Associate Degree in Aircraft Technology from Greenville Technical College. He retired from the United States Postal Service with thirty-one years of service and was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church where he served on the media team.

Joe loved a good joke and making people smile. He was a beekeeper and had a love for Aeronautics, airplanes and flying, but his greatest love was for his family and especially his grandchildren. Joe will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of twenty-four years and his mother, are his son, Joseph "Jody" F. Vaughn, III (Melonie) of Pickens; his daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Nifong (Mark) of Easley; his two step-sons, Randy Swilling (Sharon) of Big Creek, KY, and Keith Swilling of Greenville; and his eleven grandchildren, Joseph Bradley Vaughn, Kelsey Amos (Chris), Brooke Vaughn, Alex Nifong, India Nifong, Olivia Nifong, Kyle Swilling, Dustin Swilling, Dustin Driver, Will Swilling, and Chase Smithwick (Savannah). In addition to his father, Mr. Vaughn was predeceased by a brother, Terry Wayne Vaughn.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Blue Ridge View Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM Thursday at the church, prior to the service.
