Joseph Ray Youngblood, 85, husband of Rachel Hall Youngblood, passed away at his home on October 17, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Mabel Rogers Youngblood.
Ray served our country in the US Navy aboard the USS Bold. He graduated from Clemson University and spent a career in textiles. He retired from Alice Manufacturing as Vice President of Engineering. He served our community in many ways, President of Jaycees, President of Chamber of Commerce, Pickens County School Board member, Chairman of Bicentennial Committee, and Board of Governors at Tri County Technical College.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 69 years, are his four children, Cheryl Youngblood, Ted Youngblood and his wife Brenda, Jeffrey Youngblood and his friend Sonia Christopher, Laurie Elrod and her husband Anthony; his two brothers, Jack Youngblood and Jimmy Youngblood; one sister, Sandra Aiken; six grandchildren, Jacob Youngblood, Natasha Jenkins and her husband Aaron, Jessica Landrum and her husband Jacob, Alexis Waldrop and her husband Eric, Logan Elrod and Jenna Youngblood; and four great grandchildren, Madison, Tuc, Tanner Rae and Cely.
Funeral services will take place Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12:30pm - 1:45pm at the funeral home.
Seating capacity is limited to 50 and those in attendance should wear masks and social distance.
