Melody "Joy" Galloway, 50, of Easley, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012.

Born in Pickens County, the daughter of Karleen Burroughs Galloway of Easley, and the late Edward Bryan Galloway, Joy graduated from Easley High School and attended Greenville Tech where she earned her degree in nursing and later retired as a nurse with Pickens County DDSN. She was a member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are a son, Blake Galloway of Easley; her sister-in-law, Maye Galloway of Easley; her aunt, Gladys Burroughs-Pace of Easley; niece, Shauna Galloway-Williams (DuPree) of Greenville; great-niece and nephew, Phobe and Esdras Williams of Greenville; and special friends, Phyllis Davis, Juanita Womack, PJ Fuller, Joan and Bob Ellis, Linda and Gerald Suddeth; Mickey Sentell, Nell Long and Jessyln Owens. In addition to her father, Joy was predeceased by her brother, Sammy Galloway, her maternal grandparents, George and Pauline Burroughs and by her paternal grandparents, G.B. and Orpha Galloway.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Phil McAlister officiating.

Visitation will be at the funeral home immediately following the service.

Memorials may be made to Geer Memorial Baptist Church, 911 South Fifth Street, Easley, SC 29640 or to the Julie Valentine Center, 2905 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 2911.

The family is at the home of her mother, 115 Baldwin Place, Easley, SC 29642.
