Joyce Kathleen Kelley Pannell, 86, of Easley, and wife of the late Bob G. Pannell, died peacefully Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Haven in the Village at Chanticleer.
Born October 9, 1929 in Toccoa, GA, the daughter of the late Rev. Holman Kelley and Alline Holbrook Kelley.
As a devout Christian, Joyce lived her entire life with an unwavering confidence in God's love for her. She was a faithful and active member of Easley First Baptist Church, where she taught kindergarten and was involved in many other volunteer capacities throughout the years.
Joyce enjoyed any gathering of friends or family that involved food, story telling and laughter. She had a special love for cooking and often cooked Sunday lunch for family and friends in her home.
In addition to her loving husband of 58 years, she was preceded in death by her oldest son, Nathan E. "Ed" Pannell, and one grandson, Charles McLaughlin Pannell.
Joyce is survived by her children: daughter-in-law, Lynette Martin Pannell of Anderson, SC, sons, Robert Charles "Chuck" Pannell (Marian) of Tuxedo, NC and Steven S. Pannell (Beth) of Simpsonville, SC; sister, Joanne Kelley Burns of Toccoa; devoted grandmother to, Josh, Carrie and Bethany Pannell of Anderson, SC, Andy Pannell of Edisto Island, SC, John C. Pannell and S. Tucker Pannell of Tuxedo, NC, and Morgan Kathleen Pannell and April Walker of Simpsonville, SC; eight great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
She will always remain very much alive in the memories of those who loved, respected and treasured her.
Funeral service will be held Monday, May 23rd at 11:00 am at Easley First Baptist Church, 300 E. 1st Avenue, Easley, SC with Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 am to 10:45 am prior to the service at the church.
