Mrs. Joyce Martin Smith, 87, wife of Fred Phillip Smith, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, September 5, 2021.
Born in Savannah, GA, the daughter of the late John Milton Manly and the late Irene Bell Manly, Mrs. Smith retired as office manager with the office of Dr. Floyd Griffin, M.D. after over thirty years of service and was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church where she belonged to the Victory Sunday School Class. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, and spending time with her family. She was open, caring, and friendly to all and she was known for "never meeting a stranger".
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Jackie Rogers (Floyd, Jr.) of Pickens; a stepdaughter, Debbie Martin of Hendersonville, NC; stepsons, Jeffrey Scott Smith of Virginia and Jim Smith of Hendersonville, NC; a brother, Jack Manly (Annette) of Newberry; grandchildren, Tim McKinney, Brandon McKinney, Kari-Jo Rogers, Christa Rogers, Kathleen Rogers, and Floyd Rogers, III; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a daughter, Angela Martin McKinney; and a brother, John Manly.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.
Mrs. Smith will be available for viewing on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Robinson Funeral Home, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642 during the operational hours of the funeral home.
