Juanita Womack

October 12, 1943 — April 21, 2024

Easley

Juanita Soileau Womack, 80, wife of the late Huey Pierce Womack Sr. passed away peacefully Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the home of James and Karen Womack, who lovingly cared for her during her final two years.

Born in Elton, Louisiana, she was the youngest daughter of the late Poley Soileau and Dia Manuel Soileau. She was of the Catholic faith. Juanita raised her six children before working outside the home, where she spent many years as a Caregiver at the Willows Assisted Living in Easley. She was a very humble and quiet person who expressed herself through her cooking. An amazing baker and cook, she specialized in the Cajun cuisine on which she honed her skills. Hosting dinners and gatherings for family and friends was an expression of her love. Those memories will always be cherished and never forgotten. During her retirement years, she devoted herself to the rescue of senior dogs.

She is survived by her sons, Huey Pierce “Butch” Womack Jr (Kathy), Timothy Scott Womack (Don), and James Lee Womack (Karen); daughters, Vera Jean Cain, Pamela Womack Rivard, and Dianna Womack Gracely; grandchildren, Lisa Smith, Kristie Garcia, Melissa Smith, Laura Merritt, Pierce Womack, Kayla Crosby, Brandon Womack, Alexandria Womack, and Meghan Gracely; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two grandsons, Mark Smith and Mitchell Gracely. Juanita was the last surviving sibling in her family, having been predeceased by her brother Otis Soileau and sisters Lessie LaFleur, Lillie Courville, Mary Courville and Ruby Rester.

The family will be at their respective homes. A private memorial service will be held in Louisiana later this year. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Juanita’s honor to your local animal shelter or animal rescue.
