Judith "Judy" Goodwin Meadors, age 84, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. Judy was a devout Christian and embraced our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Born in Greensboro, North Carolina on January 31, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Henry Pierce Goodwin and Virginia Williams Goodwin.
Judy graduated from Greenville High School in 1961 and soon afterwards married John R. Adamson III with whom she had three sons: John R. Adamson IV, Robert Francis Adamson II, and David Goodwin Adamson. Later in life, she married the late William Pascal Meadors.
Judy held various positions in retail working as a bridal consultant and secretary at Builders Mart and the Greenville Health System. She was endeared for her community work with Meals on Wheels and spent many years serving at Shriners Hospital.
She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville for over 30 years, where she led Bible studies and supported ministries for individuals with special needs. While living in Easley, she was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church, and in her later years, she attended St. Paul’s Church in Greenville, SC.
Judy is survived by her sons, John R. Adamson IV, Robert Francis Adamson II (Susie) and David Goodwin Adamson (Holly); her brother, Henry P. Goodwin (Susan) and her sister, Elaine G. Thomason. Judy was a loving grandmother to Frances Glenn Adamson, James Woodruff Adamson, Emma Clare Adamson, Robert Pierce Adamson and Conner Adamson Mathena (Ivan). Her grandchildren were the joy of her life, each holding a special place in her heart. Judy is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Sawyer Adamson, Stryker Mathena and Cassius “Cash” Mathena.
Her life was marked by a gentle kindness and a quiet strength that touched all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on April 17, 2026 at St. Paul's Church, Greenville, SC.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to St. Paul’s Church and to the special caregivers who assisted Judy in her final days at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC.
