Judy McDowell Shull, 65, of 106 Baldwin Place, wife of the late Francis Adam "Chipper" Shull, went home to be with her Lord, after a courageous battle with cancer, Saturday, September 22, 2007, at her home.

Born in Greenville County, a daughter of the late Fred and Geneva Jones McDowell, Mrs. Shull retired as an administrator with the Pickens County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where she belonged to the Homemakers Sunday School Class.

Surviving are a son Warren Dean Cooke of Orange Park, FL; three daughters, Sherie Burdett and her husband, Mack, of Piedmont, Kelly Harrison and her husband, Steve of Simpsonville, and Lyn Shull of Greenville; a brother, Leonard Ronald McDowell of Greenville; two sisters, Freddie Reid of Simpsonville and Pat Dodson of Easley; and two grandchildren, Chip and Jesse Burdett.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Homemakers Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escorts.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road and will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Monday where the family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Winyah Hospice, 880 Pleasantburg Drive, Suite 1A, Greenville, SC 29607 or to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.

The family is at the home of Sherie and Mack Burdett, 53 Washington Drive, Piedmont, SC 29673.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Jeffery Edenfield for his care and concern for Mrs. Shull.
