Judy Woodard, 76, of Seneca, a teacher of children with special needs, and devoted wife and mother passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Born in Fredericksburg, TX, she was the daughter of a U.S. Air Force Colonel who traveled with her family to several assignments nationally and overseas. Judy graduated from Abilene Christian College in 1971 and married David Woodard a year prior to her commencement. The family came to Clemson in 1983 and in 1987, she graduated from Clemson University with a master’s degree in special education. Judy was employed by Anderson School District #4 and #5 until her retirement in 2017.
She was a devoted Sunday School teacher at both Clemson Presbyterian Church and Oconee Presbyterian Church, where “Miss Judy” enjoyed the adoration of children.
Judy is the wife of fifty-six years to David Woodard; mother to two sons, Caleb Woodard (Melanie) of Clemson and Jesse Woodard (Hunter) of Greenville; “Juju” to her grandchildren, Penelope and Charlotte Woodard; sister to James Leslie Wyatt, III (Jeannie) of Dallas, TX, Sarah Wyatt Layman of Dallas, TX, and Amy Wyatt McFee of Boerne, TX; sister-in-law to Jeff Woodard (Lori) and Toby Woodard (Katie).
A service to celebrate the life of Judy Woodard will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Oconee Presbyterian Church, 121 Rochester Highway, Seneca, SC 29672. The family will receive friends and family after the service at Keowee Key Events Center, 1 Country Club Dr., Salem SC 29676.
A private family burial will be held at Old Stone Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Oconee Presbyterian Church, 121 Rochester Highway, Seneca, SC 29672.
