Julia ( A ) Cato, 90, widow of Lewis F. Cato, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Clemson Area Retirement Center.


She was a Christian, mother, wife, sister, grandmother, friend and was a member of Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church.


A private family burial was held in Old Stone Church Cemetery.


Julia was born September 5,1919. Graduated Valedictorian from Cope High School and was an alumni of Anderson College. Married Lewis F. Cato July 31,1944. She was a member of the staff at NCEE and helped develop a strong foundation for this organization. Julia continued in her career as a key member of the Presidents Office of Clemson University. After retirement Julia devoted her time to family, DAR, Genealogy, and her beloved pets.


Julia was predeceased by husband Lewis, son Lew, and sister Billy O'cain.


Surviving is son, Steve, wife Suzy, sons Jon and Mark of Clemson. Daughter-In-Law Pam and children Ashley and Keitt of Clover. Sister Mary Antley and niece Allan O'Cain, Willia Copes, nephew Butch O'cain of Orangeburg and brother Herbert Antley of Fort Worth, Texas.
