Mrs. Julia G. Hale died at age 70, Friday, July 17, 2009. She is survived by her husband Richard S. (Steve) Hale, of the home, to whom she was married for 52 years; sons, James Davidson Hale and wife, Penny, of Greenville, Richard Brian Hale and wife, Diana, and Paul Bradley Hale and wife, Meshelle, all of Easley; sisters: Angela Walker of Dahlonega, GA, and Elaine Bishop of Kennesaw, GA; grandchildren, Candace, Jimmy, Adam, Kyle, Lauren, Allison, Kendall, Kaitlyn and Kourtley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Herschel Gilley and Katie Elizabeth Gilley; and her daughter: Donna Allison Hale.

She was an active member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and the Love in Action Bible Fellowship Class. She often hosted her neighborhood Bible study group at her home. She was an active officer with Palmetto Baptist Hospital Volunteer Services for over 20 years with over 10,000 hours of service. She loved her family, friends and neighbors. She found great delight in shopping and making beautiful gift baskets to help raise money for charity.

A devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all, Julia will truly be missed. Our loss is heaven's gain where she will finally be reunited with her only daughter and parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore and Rev. Joe Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown and will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. Monday where the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 pm, prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Christian Learning Centers (Released Time Program) - 210-A Mt. Airy Church Rd, Easley, SC 29642.

The family is at the residence.
