Julia Bowling Hill, 89, formerly of 301 Forest Drive, died Monday, October 30, 2006 in Swannonoa, NC. She was the widow of John Broadus "Bunker" Hill who died in 1990.



Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Claude C. and Lettie Kelly Bowling. She was a graduate of Central Wesleyan College, and taught school in Pickens County for 39 years before retiring in 1977. She was a member of United Wesleyan Church.



Surviving is a brother, Harold K. Bowling and his wife Jeanette of Swannonoa, NC. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hill was predeceased by brothers, G.W. Bowling, James G. Bowling and sisters, Edna Bowling White and Sara Bowling Cely. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Nell Evans Bowling, Thelma Curtis Bowling and Aleen Hill Bagwell, and many nieces and nephews. Niece Diane Bowling Henson and husband, Phillip, have been her special care family, caring most lovingly and faithfully for Julia during the past several years. She was greatly loved by her family and many others who knew her.



Services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Reverend Lawrence Keever officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.



The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM, Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.



Serving as Honorary Escort will be the Ladies and Men's Bible Classes of United Wesleyan Church.



In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to United Wesleyan Church, 203 Baker Road, Easley, SC 29640 or to a charity of one's choice.
