Julius Cannon ("Jules") Hydrick, 86, of Liberty, SC, died on Monday, April 9, 2007 at Easley Baptist Hospital.

Born in Columbus, Georgia to the late Julius C. Hydrick, Sr. of Columbus, Georgia and the late Elizabeth Hollis Landry of La Rose, Lousiana, he was married for 41 years to the late Corinne Esgen Hydrick of Liberty, SC.

Mr. Hydrick was a graduate of Louisiana State University with a B. S. in Electrical Engineering. While at LSU, he was president of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity. He began his career as an electrical engineer at General Electric and joined H. K. Porter Company in 1950 after eight years at G.E. Mr. Hydrick had a 10-year career at H. K. Porter including serving as Vice President and General Manager of the Disston Division prior to leaving H. K. Porter to relocate to Durham, North Carolina to be General Manager of Wrights Machinery, a division of Sperry Rand. For the last 18 years of his career he was the Vice President and General Manager of Schlumberger, formerly Sangamo Electric Company. He also served on the Board of Southern Weaving Company, was the former Chairman of the Board of Shipwatch Villas, Kiawah Island, and was the former Chairman of the Board of the Fort Hill Natural Gas Company. In retirement, he and his wife, Connie, founded JAcres Farm in Liberty, SC where they raised beef cattle for over 25 years. He was a member of the Poinsett Club and the Greenville Country Club.

Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-laws, Julia and Charley DuBois of Oakton, Virgina and Anne and Mark Kaiser of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Molly DuBois and Kelly DuBois of Oakton, Virginia; a half-brother, Robert Hydrick of Columbus, Georgia; and a step-sister, Irene Brady of La Rose, Louisiana. He is also survived by his fiance, Doris M. Rogers of Easley, SC.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Easley, SC. The family will receive friends Wednesday immediately following the service at St. Michael's Episcopal Church.
