June Kelly Blanton, 91, born in Pickens County on November 27, 1934, to the late Clarence and Gladys Dodgens Kelly, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at her home.

Mrs. Blanton was a graduate of Lander University and received her master’s degree from Clemson University. She taught at West End Elementary School for 18 years, from 1970 until she retired in 1988. Following retirement, she worked for J.C. Penny in Easley. She was a member of Tabor Methodist Church. She enjoyed growing beautiful flowers, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, and shopping (mostly returning what she purchased).

Surviving are her children, Wendy Blanton Pilgrim of Easley, Johnny Blanton (Janice) of Easley, Robin Blanton of Raleigh, NC, and Keever Blanton of Easley; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shelby Durham of Easley.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Tony Pilgrim, and a brother, Bill Kelly.

At the request of Mrs. Blanton, a private graveside service will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
