June T. Brown

June Turner Brown, 90 years old, passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson SC on Saturday, June 10, 2023.  She was born June 2, 1933 in Calhoun SC (now Clemson SC) and was the daughter of the late James B. and Henrietta Fendley Turner

June was a loving wife to her husband of 69 years, the late Harold James Brown. She is survived by four daughters: Lydia Toney of Columbia SC, Donna Rainey (Don) of Easley SC, Clarissa Brown of Easley SC, and Amanda Ellis (Stephen) of Bluffton SC, a son, Robert Brown of Greenville SC and a sister Eloise Phillips of Zirconia NC.  She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her youngest son Jefferson Harold Brown, two grandchildren Harold Brown and Rosilyn Fairey Brown, two sisters Evelyn Treadway, Mildred Bryson and brother James Turner.

June was a dedicated homemaker in addition to working outside of the home in family-owned businesses.  She loved being with her immediate and extended families, going places with her sisters and sister in laws and trips to the mountains with her daughters, niece, and grand-daughter.  She also enjoyed sewing, writing poetry and playing the piano. She was a natural at golf where she excelled receiving several trophies. (And many of us know she was “attractive to sparkly things”.)

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the Pendleton First Baptist Church, 351 S. Broad St, Pendleton SC. Visitation will start at 2:00 PM with the service at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Graveside service will follow the service in the church’s cemetery.
