June O'Dell Jones, 87, a life-long resident of Easley, widow of Ray Jones, died Sunday, October 24, 2021 with her family by her side.

Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late Clarence L. and Corrie Kelly O'Dell. She was a 1952 graduate of Easley High School and an outstanding basketball player. She retired from the Pickens County School District with 27 years of service.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Easley for over 70 years where she belonged to the Frannie Freeman Sunday School Class and the Women's Missionary Union.

After retirement, she was a volunteer with Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital and United Christian Ministries.

Surviving are her children, Denna Jones Callahan, and husband William of Greenville, Dr. David R. Jones of Easley, and Patricia Jones Jacks, and husband Gerald of Six Mile. Mrs. Jones is also survived by granddaughter Mallory Jacks Finley, and husband Tillman; great-granddaughter Annistyn, also of Six Mile; and a sister-in-law, Betty O'Dell of Greenville.

In addition to her loving husband of 60 years, she was predeceased by sisters Kathryn Freeman, and husband John of Greenville, Rebecca Lesley, and husband Earl of Manning, Mary Robins, and husband Joe of Travelers Rest, and brother Clarence "Bud" O'Dell of Greenville.

Mrs. Jones was a wonderful mother, sister and friend, and she will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021 with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Easley First Baptist Church of Easley with burial to follow at Westview Cemetery, Easley.
