Karen Lynn Carpenter Batson, 48, died Friday, January 26, 2007.

Born in Decatur, Georgia, she was a daughter of Shirley Williams Carpenter Ervin of Liberty and the late William C. Carpenter. Mrs. Batson was a corporate travel agent and was formerly employed at Travel Inc. of Greenville Mrs. Batson was an avid softball fan and enjoyed playing as a member of the NCR team. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her stepfather, Thomas P. Ervin of the home; one daughter, Hope Lynn Rose and her husband Jonathan of Seneca; three sisters,Brenda Gail Storay, and Pamela Jane Bradley, both of Liberty, and Cathy Jeanine Sill of Atlanta, Ga.; one granddaughter, Dusti Rayne Simmons of Seneca; six nieces and nephews; and one great nephew.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by one sister, Cynthia Ann Price.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday January 29, 2007 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home ~ Downtown with the Reverend Dr. Raymon Longenecker officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family is at the residence.
