Karen M. Greenwood

Karen M. Greenwood, 79, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

Born on April 29, 1945, to the late Paul and Hallie Joanne Skidmore Myers, Karen dedicated her life to the profession of nursing, serving as a Registered Nurse until her retirement. 

Throughout her retirement, Karen engaged in numerous activities that brought her joy and fulfillment. She was an active volunteer in her community, and when she wasn't volunteering Karen could be found participating in jazzercise and water aerobics classes. Above all else Karen cherished the time that she spent with her family, especially her grandson John Chace Anderson.

 Karen was a devoted member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church in Walhalla, before she became a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church in Central.

Karen is survived by her children Scott Greenwood (Tanya) of Simpsonville, Melanie Roper (Chad) of Six Mile, and Kelly Anderson of Denver, NC; her grandson John Chace Anderson; and her sister Pam Ratcliff (Ron) of Panama City, FL.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by a daughter Melissa Jo Greenwood; a granddaughter Hallie Grace Anderson; and her sister Marsha Myers.

A memorial service in honor of Karen M. Greenwood will be held on October 11, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Cannon Memorial Baptist Church, located at 120 Pepper St, Central, South Carolina, 29630.
