Karen Diane Morris

May 17, 1954 — September 5, 2023

Easley

Karen Diane Morris, a loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023, at her residence. She was born on May 17, 1954, in Greenville, South Carolina, to Velma Marvilene McQueen. Karen was the loving wife of 21 years to Vernon Morris and together they shared a beautiful journey of love and companionship.

Karen's career as a Cake Designer brought joy and sweetness into the lives of those who had the pleasure of tasting her creations. With her artistic eye and attention to detail, she could transform simple cakes into edible masterpieces.

Outside of her professional life, Karen was a kind and caring lady who was firm in her faith. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her unwavering belief in the power of love and compassion. Her warm smile and gentle nature touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Karen had a deep love for travel and camping, finding solace in the beauty of God’s Creation. Nature provided her with inspiration and tranquility. Cooking was another passion of Karen's; she delighted in preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. Gospel music uplifted her spirit, fueling her faith even more.

Above all else, Karen cherished her role as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Nothing made her happier than spending quality time with her family. She leaves behind a lasting legacy filled with love and cherished memories. Left to cherish her many memories are her husband, Vernon Morris; her children; Craig Alexander (Sheila), Mike Morris (Lisa), Michelle Steed (Jason), Melissa Hunter (Eric); along with twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren continue to carry forward her love, kindness, and compassion.

In addition to being survived by her immediate family members, Karen is also mourned by her mother, Velma Marvilene Loftis: her siblings, Brian Gillespie, Wayne Gillespie (Brenda), Linda Jones, and Jan Smith (Todd) were instrumental in shaping the person she became. She was preceded in death by her brother, Barry Gillispie.

Friends and loved ones are invited to honor Karen's life at a Visitation scheduled for September 9, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Chapel of Reflections Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens. A Funeral Service will follow at the
Chapel of Reflections Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM following the visitation.

Karen Diane Morris will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. In our hearts, her legacy lives on as we remember her kindness, creativity, and unwavering faith. May she rest in eternal peace surrounded by the sweet melodies of heaven.
