Katharine Rackley Rampey, 95, of Sunrise Rd. Central, passed away at her home, Tuesday, December 24, 2013.
Born August 11, 1918 in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late, Walter and Anna Rothell Rackley. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Nations of Hendersonville, NC and Ruth Evans (John) of Central; two sons, James D. Rampey (Sarah) of Central, and Bruce E. Rampey (Janna) of Greenville; a brother, Clyde Rackley (Ann) of Easley; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Arnold M. Rampey; two infant daughters, Alice and Edith Rampey; two sisters Ovaline Porter and Lucille Chapman; a brother, Clifton Rackley.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, December 26, 2013 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P. M. until 1:45 P. M. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Praters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Six Mile Hwy., Central, SC 29630, or Praters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 621 Praters Creek Rd., Pickens, SC 29672, or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd. Anderson, SC 29621.
