Katharine (Kitty) Blakey Taylor, 77, of Homewood, died Friday, March 17, 2006, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenville, Mrs. Taylor was a daughter of the late Dr. Ryland Arwood and Katharine Hagood Blakey. A graduate of Greenville High School, she attended Mary Baldwin College and graduated from Katharine Gibbs School in New York. She was a member of the Junior League, The Debutante Club and The Assembly. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Christ Church Episcopal.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Coles Taylor, Sr. of the home; two sons, Edward Coles Taylor, Jr. of Greenville, Bruce Hagood Taylor of Easley; two daughters, Ryland Blakey Taylor of Columbia, Katharine Taylor Robertson of St. Petersburg, FL; one sister, Ryland Blakey Furlong and her husband, Skip, of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren, Edward Coles Taylor, III, Martha Laurens "Molly" Taylor, Ashlee Lynn Taylor, Christine Robertson, and Beau Robertson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Martha Laurens Taylor.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Edward C. Taylor, Jr., 117 Marshall Bridge Drive, Greenville, S.C. 29605.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doorways to Discipleship, Christ Church Episcopal, 10 N. Church Street, Greenville, S.C. 29601 or the charity of one's choice.
