Katherine B. Benson, Clemson
Katherine Beck Benson, 92, of the Clemson Downs, died Nov. 23, 2006. She was born in Seoul, Korea of missionary parents. She was the widow of the late Harold Walter Benson. She grew up in Ohio, attended Ohio Wesleyan University, and graduated from the Cincinnati Training School for Christian Workers. She worked as a church social worker until marrying Walter Benson of Chicago in 1938.
She resided in the Chicago area until moving to Clemson in 1974. An active member of Clemson United Methodist church, she was leader of the Study Group for eighteen years.
Mother of the late Katherine Cobb, Brent Benson and wife Barbara of Coopersburg, PA, and Lois Hodik and husband John of San Diego, CA. Grandmother of Katherine Figahs of Chicago, Il, the late Blake Cobb, Jennifer Heidt of Taylor, MI, Robin Barnes of Austin, TX, Brent Benson, Jr. of Lunenburg, MA, and a number of great grandchildren.
