Mrs. Katherine Durham "Kitty" Brown, 74, of Myrtle Beach, SC, loving wife of the late Douglas Wilton Brown, Sr., passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at her residence.
Kitty was born in Oconee County, SC on May 24, 1942 to the late Plummer Pascal "Gabe" and Cora Satterfield Durham. She graduated from Pickens High School and worked as an executive secretary for the Flour-Daniel Corporation before relocating to Myrtle Beach. Once in Myrtle Beach, she worked as the district manager for Jafra Cosmetics, as a realtor for ERA Perry and for Brineagar Realty, and then began her career in retail which lasted over 30 years.
Kitty was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Easley, and attended Journey Church in Myrtle Beach. She had a love for her family which was unending. She loved her grandson, Brandon, and they took many trips in the "Nana Bus" to Bruster's for ice cream. She was a scrapbooker, and loved to watch her British mystery shows. Along with her family, she loved her cats, or any animal that crossed her path.
Mrs. Brown is survived by a son; Buster Brown (Pamela) of Myrtle Beach; a daughter; Ginger Brown of Myrtle Beach; a sister; Virginia Hayes of Liberty; and her grandson; Brandon Brown.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Patrick Durham and John C. Durham; and two sisters; Gladys Dorsey and Louise Finley.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM On Saturday, September 10, 2016 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, 305 W. Main Street, Easley, SC 29640. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM at the Funeral Home.
Flowers are optional, or the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the McLeod Children's Hospital, c/o Deb Bramlett; 555 E. Cheeves St., Florence, SC 29506.
