Katherine Gibson Burdette, 58, of Pendleton, South Carolina, journeyed to her heavenly home on Monday, November 2, 2015. She passed peacefully while at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, South Carolina.
Kathy was born to Charles Gibson and the late Virginia Gibson on January 4, 1957 in Anderson, South Carolina. She was an educator at heart, serving the school districts of Dillon, Lexington District 1, Anderson District 4, and Oconee County in South Carolina for 23 years. She received her B.S. from Winthrop College and a Master of Education from University of South Carolina.
Survivors include two daughters, Casey Burdette of Anderson, South Carolina; Carrie Lott (Daniel) of Bamberg, Germany; father Charles Gibson of Anderson, South Carolina; sister Joy Osgood of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers Phil Gibson of Lexington, South Carolina and Stanley Gibson of Westminster, South Carolina; and one granddaughter, Camden Virginia Lott.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Pendleton First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Anderson DSN Board/Brain Injury Support Group at 212 McGee Road in Anderson, South Carolina.
