Katherine Jane Williams, 79, of 678 Lenhardt Road and wife of Kirk K. Williams, passed away Tuesday December 13, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Williams was born in Easley, a daughter of the late George and Nannie Griffin Williams. She graduated with a B.S. degree from Furman University in 1954 and later earned a Masters Degree in Science Teaching from Clemson University. She taught school at Wren High School, Easley Middle School, Dacusville Middle School and retired in 1989 from Gettys Middle School. She was a member of Easley First Baptist Church and the Marion Morehead Sunday School Class, the Women's Club of Easley, the N.E.A., the Alpha Delta Kappa XI Teachers Association and the Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Laura Foster and her husband Richard, of Athens, Georgia and a granddaughter, Caroline Foster.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Andy Williams, a brother, Terry Williams and a granddaughter, Carman Foster.

Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Saturday at First Baptist Church, Easley, with the Reverend Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM Saturday, prior to the service, in the chapel narthex of the church.

The family is at the home.
