Kathleen Bruce Allen Blase, 68, of Ft. Myers, Florida and formerly of Greenville passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in Florida.
She was the daughter of the late Richard Loudon and Virginia Bruce Allen. She graduated from Greenville High School and Sullins College in Bristol, Va.
Kathleen and her family moved to Southwest Florida in 1973 and have made the area their home ever since. She had a special place in her heart for the islands of Sanibel and Captiva. She promoted the islands through her professional career at the Sanibel and Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce and as a photographer for Kathleen Blase Photography where the beaches frequently served as a backdrop to many weddings and family gatherings. She also photographed for Times of the Islands magazine.
She is survived by her son, James Hagood Blase of Savannah, Ga.; her daughter and husband Patricia Blase Beringer and Peter
Beringer and granddaughter Sydney May Beringer of Tampa, Fl. Also surviving her are her brother and his wife, Dick and Jo Allen
and her nephew, Andy Allen, all of Greenville, S.C.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 24, 2008, at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown Easley. Burial will follow at the Hagood Family Cemetery in Pickens, S.C.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
