Kathleen "Kathy" Mays
- Clemson, SC
Kathleen "Kathy" Hull Mays, 67, of Clemson went to her heavenly Father on Tuesday,
December 18, 2012, at her home after almost a year-long battle with metastatic
melanoma.
Born on September 18, 1945, in Oconee Hospital in Seneca, SC, she was the
daughter of the late Harold S. Hull & Katherine Bagwell Hull of Westminster, SC. Kathy was
a graduate of Lander College in 1967 with a BS degree in Elementary
Education. She was a homemaker and an active member of Clemson United Methodist
Church. She had a life-long love for dogs, who completed her family, especially the late
Noel & Beau and currently Abigail & Katie. Her bubbly and up-beat personality was an
inspiration to everyone she met. Hobbies included volunteering and helping others. She
enjoyed meeting new friends and helping old friends. She never met a stranger. Kathy
enjoyed traveling, especially in the Far East and Europe as part of her husband's Air
Force assignments.
She is survived by her husband of 45+ years, William F. "Bill" Mays of the home; a son W. Fritz Mays, Jr., & daughter-in-law Angela Dawkins Mays (formerly of Anderson, SC) of Hartsville, SC. Two grandsons, Jacob William Mays & Brayden John Mays, also of Hartsville, SC.. She was predeceased by 2 day old son Ryan Daniel Mays in 1970 and 2 day old son Jon Hull Mays in 1972. Kathy has one older brother, James S. "Jim" Hull(Louise) of Greenwood, SC.
Kathy will be cremated and later buried with her husband at the State Veterans' Cemetery near Anderson, SC, when he passes.
A memorial service celebrating Kathy's life will be held on Sunday, December 30, at 2pm at Clemson United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clemson United Methodist Church; P.O. Box 590, Clemson, SC 29633.
