Kathryn Hines Greer
July 1, 1982 – January 25, 2023

Kathryn Hines Greer, age 40, of Piedmont, peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 1, 1982, she was the daughter of Don and Teresa Hines.  She was a registered nurse at Prisma Health and a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Katie is survived by her fiance, Matthew Johnson; sons, Coleman and Hayes Greer; siblings, Jonathan (Jami) and Ben (Lauren); grandmother, Shirley Bailey; a niece, Emerson; and nephews, Parker, Mac and Levi. Katie is predeceased by paternal grandparents, Hollan and Hazel Hines, and maternal grandfather, Charles Bailey.

Katie earned her Associates Degree in Nursing in 2016 and became a labor and delivery nurse at Baptist Easley.  She achieved this long-time goal of nursing as a career largely in part of her desire to love and care for others. She loved nothing more than her family, and especially her children.  Katie's greatest joy were her boys, and she spent much of her time watching and cheering for them on the baseball field.  Her hobbies also included time on the lake, camping and boating, and in general, anything that involved time spent with her family. Katie had an infectious spirit and lived life to the fullest each day always thinking of others before herself. Katie was a great friend, mother, daughter, and sister.  She was a bright light to any and all that knew her, and she will be greatly missed.  

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Easley, SC from 1:30pm - 3:00pm, followed by a celebration of life service.  A private family interment will follow at Robinson Memorial Gardens.
