Kathryn "Kay" Wells Herbert, 91, formerly of Easley, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Wesley Commons.

Born in Atlanta, a daughter of the late Charles Glenn and Ola Williams Wells, Mrs. Herbert graduated from Girls High School in Atlanta and attended Greenville Women's College. She worked with the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta and later was employed with the School District of Pickens County and the State Department of Education.

Mrs. Herbert was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Greenwood and was formerly a member of First United Methodist Church in Easley. She was a member of the Easley Garden Club.

Surviving are her husband of seventy years, Thad W. Herbert, Sr., of Greenwood; a son, Thad W. Herbert, Jr., and wife, Carolyn, of Greenville; two daughters, Karen Clark and husband, Terry, of Punta Gorda, FL, and Susan Hair and husband, Don, of Chapin; three grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Herbert was predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Wells Gaston.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Wesley Commons, 1110 Marshall Road, Greenwood, with Rev. Carol Wray officiating. Private family entombment will be in the Bell Tower Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley.
