Kathryn Harris Tripp, 81, of 3629 Pelzer Highway and widow of Allen P. Tripp, Sr., died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Palmetto Health Baptist.

Mrs. Tripp was born in Johnston County, NC, a daughter of the late Ruffin H. and Mary Creech Harris.

Mrs. Tripp was a graduate of Corinth-Holders High School in Johnston County, NC and the Greenville General Hospital Medical Secretary's School. She retired after 28 years of service with the Easley Surgical Associates (Drs. Bowick, Goudelock and Mahanes). She was Past President of the SC Medical Assistants Association, was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Group of the church.

Surviving are: two sons, Allen P. "Phil" Tripp, Jr. and Jack Harris Tripp and his wife Kathy all of Easley; sister, Bessie Eatmon of Smithfield, NC; 2 grandsons, Eric Tripp and wife Angela and Austin Tripp and his fiancee Amanda; a great-granddaughter, Bryana Tripp; and a great-grandson, Austin Isaiah Tripp, who is due in November.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Tripp was predeceased by: 2 brothers, Charlie Harris and Rupert Harris; and a sister, Viola Narron.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday at Fairview United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Joe Durham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

The family is at the home.

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to Ms. Louise Balentine, her caregiver and to Dr. Steven Freeman, her physician.
