Kathryn Garren passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 5, 2010. A native of Sonoraville, Georgia, she was bon June 12, 1924. She lived most of her life in Clemson. Mrs. Garren was the daughter of the late Balius Tatum and Emma Hardy McEntyre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford Garren, three sisters, Thelma Wood, Sallie Bowen and Doris Gravitt, five brothers, Bradley McEntyre, Ferguson McEntyre, Aaron McEntyre, Lorain McEntyre and Tom McEntrye.
A long time home maker and loving mother she most enjoyed the love and comfort from her family. Mrs. Garren's survivors include her daughters, Vicki Boettcher of Wayne, PA, Kathie Williams and husband Bill of Newport News, VA, Jeanie Whitten and husband Tim of Tega Cay, SC; grandchildren, Eric Boettcher, Kirsten Boettcher, Julie Boettcher, Kyle Williams, Chelsie Williams, Kathryn Whitten, and John Whitten. Her sweet smile and loving heart will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 7, from 11:00am to 12:30pm at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church in Pendleton with burial to follow at Old Stone Church Cemetery in Clemson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 2275 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
