Katie R. Campbell

Katie Lou Rogers Campbell, 89, of 142 White Oak Drive, died Friday, July 17, 2009, at Anderson Place.
Born in Hartwell, GA, Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of the late Henry Olin and Rebecca Lucintha Pearson Rogers. She moved to Easley with her parents where she was a member of Easley First Baptist Church. Upon her graduation from Easley High School in 1938, she was employed by Dr. B. Frank Finley as a dental assistant. After her marriage, she lived with her husband in Anderson County where they farmed and for many years she was an employee of First National Bank in Anderson.
After her retirement, she was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Anderson County Woman's Club, a charter member of Col. John Robin's Chapter Colonial Dames of XVII Centry, member of Hudson Berry Chapter D.A.R., S.C. Genealogical Society, Inc., Anderson Heritage, Inc. and Pendleton Historic Foundation, and a former member of S.C. Archeology Society.
She was an active member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and worker in the Women's Missionary organizations, and was member of the Webb Pepper Sunday School Class.
Surviving are her husband, James Harold Campbell of the home; longtime friends of the family, Joe Watt, Stephanie Neill and Corey Watt all of Williamston; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Campbell was predeceased by three brothers, Charles Milton Rogers, Lloyd Earl Rogers and William James Rogers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dave Shorter officiating.
Visitation will be at the graveside immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622, the Cemetery Repair Fund of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 101 Pisgah Road, Easley, SC 29642 or to the charity of one's choice.
