Katie Alexander Carter, 85, wife of the late James L. Carter, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Brookdale in Anderson.
Mrs. Carter was born in Pickens County and was a daughter of the late Carl Daniel and Mary Pearl Ramey Alexander. She was retired from La France Industries and was a member of East Clemson Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Jenny Smith and her husband, Ronnie of Washington, GA and Mary Pearson of Townville, SC; one grandson, Chanse Smith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Grady, Dewey and J. B. Alexander; sister, Grace Jones; son in law, Luther Pearson.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2017 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, with burial to follow in Memory Gardens, Clemson.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cottingham Hospice, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672.
