Kelvin R. Kearse, Esq.

Easley, SC

Kelvin R. Kearse, a distinguished attorney, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and committed community member, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 28, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by his family. Born on January 25, 1956, in Knoxville, Tennessee, his life was marked by professional excellence, steadfast values, and a deep dedication to those around him.

His academic journey began at the University of Tennessee, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He later received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. His pursuit of knowledge and unwavering commitment to justice laid the foundation for a remarkable legal career.

For more than 45 years, Kelvin devoted his life to the practice of law, serving with unwavering integrity, wisdom, and compassion. He proudly served the Easley community and surrounding areas, earning the trust and respect of clients, colleagues, and friends alike. To many, he was far more than an attorney—he was a trusted advisor, a steady source of guidance, and someone people knew they could depend on. He approached every case with fairness, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Beyond his profession, Kelvin embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. He was a devoted Tennessee Volunteers fan, loved the outdoors, never passed up a good thrift store find, and was always eager to discover new music. A lifelong reader with an insatiable curiosity, his family often joked that he was an encyclopedia. Kelvin would simply laugh and say he just had “a head full of useless trivia.” His appreciation for music spanned every genre, and few things brought him more joy than attending concerts with those he loved.

A faithful member of Easley Presbyterian Church, Kelvin’s faith was the foundation of his life. It guided the way he served others, cared for his family, and lived with compassion, humility, and grace.

Kelvin is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Martin Kearse; his daughters, Hannah Kearse Dixon and her husband, Nate, and Kaitlyn Kearse Ross and her husband, Luke; his beloved grandchildren, Avery Ross, Mason Ross, Jack Dixon, and Holland Ross, expected to arrive in October; his brother, Kelly Kearse, and Kelly’s wife, Kathy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene R. Kearse and Grace Casteel Kearse.

Family, friends, colleagues, and the Easley community will remember Kelvin for his generosity, wisdom, warm smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures and delighted in sharing them with others.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Easley Presbyterian Church Parlor, 200 S. First Street, Easley, SC 29640.
