KENNETH W. CARRINGTON, MD Salem, S.C.
Dr. Kenneth Wilson Carrington, 79, husband of Priscilla Whitt Carrington, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at his residence in Keowee Key. A native of Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Henry and Gladys Wilson Carrington.
Dr. Carrington was a 1950B graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and a 1954 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He was a resident in neurological surgery at the University of Michigan and a Fellow in Neurological Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He practiced neurological surgery in Augusta, GA from 1961-1977. He was a member of the American Medical Association and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Carrington was a member of the Holy Trinity Church in Clemson, SC. He was an avid sailor and fisherman and was a long time supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs.
In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Karen Elaine Carrington of Shanghai, China, Debra Ann Carter (David) of Boca Raton, FL, Dr. Krista Lee Gillam,
DVM, (Brad) of Bell Buckle, TN, Kenneth Wilson Carrington, Jr. (Allyson) of Charleston, SC, Troy Wade Carrington of Los Angeles, CA and Casey Nicole Carrington of Los Angeles, CA and eight grandchildren: Dax White (Kathleen), Harrison Carter, Matthew Carter, Carrington Carter, Rachel Berkley, Reid Gillam, Kenneth Wilson Carrington, III and Beckett Carrington.
A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
