Kenneth DeFoor Dobson, 78, died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley. He was a member of Refuge Baptist Church and attended Central Independent Baptist Church.
Born January 1, 1931 in Pendleton, he was the son of the late Homer Dewey and Rosa DeFoor Dobson. He was a retired U. S. Air Force Veteran, having served 21 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian Martin Dobson; sons, Larry Dobson and wife Lynn of Central and Danny Dobson and special loved one Lucy Arthur of Central; daughter, Sheilah Peake and husband J.P. "Yankee" of Inman; grandchildren, Roger Dobson and wife Susan, Tenille King and husband Jason and Leigh Powell; great grandchildren, Kenneth Powell, Chelsea Powell and Sara King; sisters, Florence Craig of Greer, Christine McAlister of Lake Jackson, TX, Ethel Martin of Greenville, Barbara McAlister of Clemson; brothers, Leland Dobson of Central and Eugene Dobson of Summerville. He was preceded in death by brothers, Henry Dobson and H. D. "Bud" Dobson, both of Pendleton.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3pm in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central conducted by Rev. Billy Ray Merck and Rev. Mike Dobson. Visitation will be from 2-3pm Sunday prior to the service. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
