Kenneth Cullen "Bo" Griffis, 82, of 437 Wilson Road, Central, husband of Doris Bozard Griffis, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Hospice of the Upstate.
Born December 30, 1927 in Clinch County, Georgia, he served in the U.S. Army, attended the University of Georgia, and graduated from South Georgia College. He was a son of of the late Randal Jackson and Lola Dukes Griffis of Homerville, Georgia. He was the founder of Griff"s Farm and Home Center in Pendleton, S.C.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years and sons, Ken Griffis, Jr. (Ginger) of Mesquite, TX, Randy Griffis (Nancy) and Wayne Griffis (Connie) all of Pendleton. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kelly Gilbert, Amy McDaniel, Scott Griffis, Stephanie Brothers, Jessie Leigh Griffis, and Troy Griffis; and five great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include a brother, Jacky Griffis; and sisters, Janette Berry, LaTrelle Lisenby, and Marcia McQuaig. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert Griffis and Norman "Pud" Griffis.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 29th at 2:00 PM at Pendleton Presbyterian Church Cemetery, officiated by The Reverend Morton White, Jr. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall. The family is at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pendleton Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 603 Mechanic Street; P.O. Box 573, Pendleton, SC 29670.
