Kenneth Ray Stewart, 74, of 1771 Brushy Creek Road and husband of Shirley Marie Whitmire Stewart, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at his residence following a brief illness.

He was born in Jackson County, NC, a son of the late Frank Ray and Violet McCall Stewart. Ken was a retired Service Manager with Ryder Truck Rental, a former contract truck driver with the Greenville News, and a member of Trinity Point Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are; 2 daughters, Holly Campbell Hardin and husband Thomas, and Kelly Stewart Rushton all of Easley; a brother, James Bernard Stewart of Brevard, NC; a sister, Joan Stewart Parker of Brevard; a brother-in-law, Boyce Whitmire and his wife Bonnie of Brevard, NC; 3 grandchildren, Allyson Bagwell Howell and husband Bill, Bridget Bagwell Scott and husband Trey, and Stewart Calvin Campbell; and 5 great-grandchildren, Andy and Avery Thompson, Preston Scott, Kerragan and Landon Howell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janis Stewart O'Shields and his mother-in-law, Marie Whitmire Cunningham.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with Reverend Mike Mohler officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:00 AM, prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.

The family is at the home of a daughter, Holly Hardin, 200 Stonehaven Lane, Easley, SC 29642.
