Kenneth Raymond Winemiller, Jr., 77, of Easley, South Carolina, husband of Linda Oxendine Winemiller, passed away on September 4, 2024.
Born in York, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Kenneth R. Winemiller, Sr. and Doris Kern Winemiller.
A proud Marine, Kenneth served his country for four years, and throughout his life, he was a protective presence for those he loved. He always watched out for others and provided a sense of security to his family and friends.
A man of many talents, Kenneth developed self-taught carpentry skills and will be remembered for his generosity in sharing them with everyone he knew growing up. From a young age, he was always fixing or creating something for those around him, a passion that guided him through life.
His love for carpentry led him to a successful career, eventually becoming a shift supervisor at Oak Tech in Traveler’s Rest. After retiring there, Kenneth embraced his love for the outdoors by launching his own landscaping business, where he was happiest riding his lawnmower, surrounded by nature.
A man who appreciated life’s simple pleasures, Kenneth enjoyed watching PBS, playing solitaire, and spending time outside. He had a deep affection for old muscle cars and a soft spot for cats. He also enjoyed hunting as a young man.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kenneth R. Winemiller, III, of Simpsonville, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Jacob Lamont Oxendine (Vicki); a niece, Elizabeth Marie Schmidt (Kevin) and nephew Joshua Thomas Oxendine (Alisha). In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Terance L. Winemiller, of Montgomery, Alabama.
