Kerry Rose

July 29, 1959 — December 30, 2025

Taylors, South Carolina

Kerry Rose, 66, of Taylors, South Carolina, beloved husband of Tracey Rose, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Born on July 29, 1959, in Marion, Indiana, to the late Merle Rose, Sr. and Ruth Evelyn Berkey Rose.

Kerry lived an active, generous life rooted in athletics, mentorship, and community.

In 1979, Kerry discovered cycling, and by 1980 he had taken his passion to a competitive level. Over the decades that followed, cycling became more than a sport; it became a community.

Kerry met the love of his life, Tracey, while they were students at Ball State University in 1979. A geography and geology major and proud member of Beta Theta Pi, Kerry graduated in 1982, the same year he and Tracey married and began their life together. After graduation, they moved to Plano, Texas, where Kerry started his career as an oil explorationist. When the oil industry collapsed in the late 1980s, Kerry adapted with characteristic determination, transitioning into a long and successful career in network design, fiber optics, and the data and electrical world. He worked with Kendall Electric from 1992 to 2012, HellermanTyton from 2012 to 2016 and completed his career at Panduit, retiring in 2021.

Kerry and Tracey raised two children, Sydney (31) and Austin “Jake” (33). In recent months, Kerry became the proud grandfather of Sophie. At just five months old, she had already claimed a special place in his heart and brought him immense joy.

That deep love for family naturally extended into Kerry's passion for youth development and soccer. Together, Kerry and Tracey ran a large youth recreational soccer league in Northern Indiana. He loved music —especially Jimmy Buffett and was a true “parrot head”. He had a legendary passion for growing the hottest peppers imaginable.

When he wasn’t cycling, Kerry could often be found at Swamp Rabbit Brewery in Travelers Rest, his favorite place to relax with his beloved golden retrievers, sharing laughs, stories, and a beer. He also enjoyed spending time with his buddies at the Cycle Haus in Simpsonville.

Kerry will be deeply missed. He leaves behind a community forever changed by his kindness, his humor, and his unwavering commitment to lifting others up.

Kerry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Tracey Rose; his son, Austin “Jake”; his daughter, Sydney Rose-Tengtio; his brother, Merle Rose, Jr.; and his granddaughter, Sophie Rose Tengtio.

In addition, Kerry is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Service details will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Kosciusko County Soccer League, P.O. Box 1998, Warsaw, Indiana 46581, or Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Rd. Greenville, SC 29607.
