Kristy Lyn Harwell, 62, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at her residence. 

She was born January 28, 1960, the daughter of the late R. Lynn and Joy S. Harwell.

Kristy graduated from Lander College with a degree in Home Economics and obtained
her teaching certificate. She worked for Spartanburg I School District as a teacher’s
aide at two different schools. Kristy loved people, which led to her working at two
daycare centers and later working at Dobson’s Hardware and Gifts in Greer.
Kristy was a resident at Belvedere Commons in Seneca. She was a caring individual
who never met a stranger. She was compassionate and always seeking to learn about
others. Kristy enjoyed caring for those around her and focused on the blessing she
could be to other people. She was a long-time member of Clemson United Methodist
Church. 

Kristy enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening and working with her father at the family farm.
She had a special connection to her hometown, Vega, TX, where she has many friends
and family.

Surviving are her sister Karil Harwell Tyler and husband, Herb of Clemson; nephew,
Michael Lynn Tyler (Bronwyn) and great nephew, Matthew Douglas Tyler of N.
Charleston; nephew, Christopher Scott Tyler (Megan Wendover) and great nephew
Herbert Essex Tyler of Charlotte, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Kurt Summers Harwell
and nephew, David Allen Tyler.

Memorial services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2022 in the chapel of
Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home and Cremations in Central, SC. The family will greet
friends following the service at the funeral home.

A graveside service will be held in her final resting place on Saturday, December 10,
2022 at 11 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega, TX. Family will be at Mitch and Jan
Reeve’s home following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the S.C. Botanical Gardens, 150
Discovery Lane, Clemson, SC 29631 or Milburn-Price Culture Museum, Box 377,
Vega, Tx 79092.
