Lake W. Looper

Mr. Lake Walter Looper, 100, husband of the late Dean Mayfield Looper, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at Manna Health and Rehab of Pickens.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Henry Arthur and Dora Friddle Looper, Mr. Looper retired from the Slater Plant of JP Stevens, and was a member of Nine Forks Baptist Church where he served as church treasurer for more than forty years.
Surviving are a son, James W. Looper (Rebecca) of Dacusville; a daughter, Martha L. Wood (Jim) of Dacusville; a brother, Clayton Looper of Dacusville; four grandchildren, Angie Wood Dickard (David), Jamie Wood, Michael Looper (Kayce), and Susan Looper Cooper (Allen); and five great-grandchildren, Luke Dickard, Emma and Sarah Cooper, Ruth and Lake Looper . In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Looper was predeceased by four brothers, Lewis, Lumas, Ansel and Bill Looper; and three sisters, Mary Anderson, Effie Looper and Florence Griffin.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2015 at Nine Forks Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
