Raymond "Lane" Boozer, 57, affectionately known as "Boozer" of River Road, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Piedmont.
Born in Fort Walton Beach, FL on January 13, 1961, he was the son of Faye Hightower Hood and the late Raymond Boozer.
Lane was retired from GE after more than 25 years of dedicated service. He was an avid Alabama Football fan…ROLL TIDE and loved to ride his motorcycle.
Surviving are Vanette Vance Boozer; a son, Ian L. Boozer (fiancé Samantha Smiley); sister, Barbara Boozer Hahne; step brother, Ralph K. Hood (Amy); step sisters, Ketia Hood Sutton (Thomas) and Michelle Boozer (Phil); step mother, Betty Boozer; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special women who he called daughters, Tiffany Honea Dempsey (Alan) and Deissy Honea; and his special furry friend, "Tig".
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his step father, Ralph M. Hood, and his grandparents, Euel and Lily Boozer and Lewis and Frances Hightower.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at River Road Baptist Church, 1714 River Road, Piedmont, SC 29673, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Vinson Cemetery, 1050 Sulphur Springs Road, Lincoln, AL 35096.
The family is at the home of Faye Hood, 125 Bentwood Drive, Piedmont, SC 29673.
